I thought Colin Farrell was great as the Penguin in Batman, but I’ve never understood how you take a skinny, good looking actor and put him in massive prosthetics and a fat suit…
who would have been just as good
especially when I think he looks like some of the others famous actors. I also didn’t really understand why this spinoff came along, and to be honest, I’m just tired of Batman reboots. But after episode 1, I will confirm that this show is amazing (so far). I only watched it knowing it was a bridge between the first and second movies and my surprise enjoyment of Farrell’s performance in the first.
But I didn’t expect to like it nearly as much
The acting is great, the writing is great, and it surprised me with some quick twists. The biggest thing I liked was the fact that it had a lot more color than Batman. I noticed this almost immediately because it was a huge complaint I had about the movie (it felt like I was watching it through a Zack Snyder lens). I hope it continues to be as good because I really can’t wait for the next episode.
